NFC could well be harnessed as a method to let users exchange their profile data through phones. Researchers at a German university developed an NFC-enabled technology, called the NFriendConnector to share profile data of users through their handsets.
Similarly, a German location based social media site, called Servtag realized an awesome NFC-based technology concept, Friendticker. What is meant with the Friendticker is to let your friends know that you have visited a particular place via hitting NFC tags. For this, Servtag applied more than 250 NFC-tag stickers at different locations in Berlin. On putting your handset close to a tag, you simply tell your friends on the site that you have arrived in that place. |
